Title Requirements Per State
Application for Title and License
If you just purchased your vehicle, I wanted to help provide some information for title requirements by state.
Missouri Title
Proof of trade (copy of title signed over to dealership or a copy of secure power of attorney. )
Inspection less than 60 days old if the vehicle is over 5 years old or ID/OD (identification of VIN# and odometer) if less than 5 years old and an out-of-state title.
Current proof of insurance.
Personal property tax receipt or waiver for current year (if buying new plates or renewing a transferred plate.)
Kansas Title
Bill of sale (retail buyers order.)
Proof of insurance.
Inspection done by the sheriff's office in an out-of-state title.
Oklahoma Title
Bill of sale (retail buyer order.)
Proof of insurance.
Identification.
If applying through one of the tribes, there could be other documents required by their tag agency (proof of enrollment for tribe.)
Arkansas Title
Bill of sale (retail buyers order.)
Copy of contract if financed.
Proof of insurance.
Proof of property tax paid.
Odometer statement if not on the title.
